主讲人简介：

Dr. Christoph Schubert is the Chief Data Officer for IE cloud intelligence. After obtaining his PhD in Mathematics in 2006 from Bremen University, he worked at the Institute of Software Technology of Dortmund University before he moved to China in 2011. His research interests include data analysis with a special focus on Big Data technologies and NoSQL databases as well as functional programming and stochastic models of computation and modal logic. Moreover, he works a foreign advisor for the Jinhua Homestay project which promotes home-stay style ecotourism and international youth exchange.

讲座摘要：

Almost seven years ago Marc Andreessen quipped that "Software is eating the world." Last year is was postulated that "AI is eating software." So how might the work of a software engineer be like in the foreseeable future? More importantly, how can we prepare ourselves for a successful career in IT in general and software engineering in particular? In this talk I would like to discuss these questions, give a personal account regarding which skills I consider to be necessary to thrive in a technical career, and give concrete hints on how to develop these skills.
